Featured Plant:  Ginkgo

   The golden leaf color of Ginkgo biloba makes an impressive sight in fall.  One of the most spectacular of all trees, the Ginkgo is a symbol of survival and adaptability.  The species has been found in fossils dating to 200 million years ago.  The distinctive two-lobed fan-shaped leaves give the tree its common name, the Maidenhair Tree, in reference to the leaflets of the Maidenhair Fern.
    One of its most impressive features is the Ginkgo’s dazzling fall color. The leathery fan-shaped leaves turn golden yellow in late October and later blanket the ground beneath the tree when they fall all at once.
   New this year is the Ginkgo variety ‘Magyar’ with strong upright growth with a dominant leader, ascending branches and narrow pyramidal habit.  Faster growing than other varieties, ‘Magyar’ Ginkgo thrives under adverse conditions and is tolerant of compacted soils, acid or alkaline. Growing 50’ tall and 30’ wide, it is easy to grow and not bothered by cold, heat, insects, or disease.
   Grow the Ginkgo as a shade tree or street tree for an excellent and reliable performer.  

New Onyx Clever Clean® Birdfeeder from Droll Yankees

     It is so easy to keep this birdfeeder clean! With the new Onyx Clever Clean® twist and release birdfeeder from Droll Yankees,  a simple twist of the wrist removes the base so that debris and chaff can be cleaned for a clean fresh fill every time.
